Gile Bae, was born in 1994 in Capelle aan den Ijssel in the Netherlands, she made her debut in South Korea as a soloist with a concert for piano and orchestra in Haydn’s C Major when she was five years old. At the age of six she enrolled at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and studied with Marlies van Gent. Since then she has focused on piano playing with various European orchestras, also participating in radio and television programs.

In 2000 she won the first Dutch awards “International Steinway & Sons Piano Competition”, “EPTA international Piano Competition” in Belgium and the Portuguese “Maria Campina International Piano Competition”. At fifteen, she won first prize in the top category of the “International Steinway & Sons Piano Competition” and she was chosen to represent Holland at the “International Steinway & Sons Festival” with a concert in the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg. She played several times for the Dutch Royal Family and in 2013 for the Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi with a concert at the Alma Mater Studiorum of Bologna.

In May 2017 he recorded the Goldberg Variations by J.S. Bach then performed them in different venues including the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza. In Vienna, in 2018, she became a member of the Bösendorfer family as  “Bösendorfer Artist”. In 2019 she completed her postgraduate studies at the Imola Academy under the guidance of the founder Maestro Franco Scala, her teacher since 2002, obtaining the Diploma and performing, in a single test, the Goldberg Variations by Bach and the 4 Ballads by Chopin followed by the Concerto n. 1 for piano and orchestra.

She performed the same concert by Chopin in the edition for piano and string quintet, in the hall of Mediobanca in Milan and also in Malta, at the presence of the President of the Republic, in the Mediterranean Conference Center with the Quartetto Archi della Scala. This year, has been invited by Sir Andràs Schiff to participate as soloist at his program “Building Bridges” for the season 2020-2021.
